Ecology

This spring-germinating annual is the most robust member of the J. bufonius aggregate, occurring in wet fields, marshes and ditches and on the muddy margins of lakes and ponds, sometimes with J. bufonius sens. str. Although often found near the coast, this species seems to shun brackish water. 0-365 m (Corndon Hill, Monts.).
