An annual occurring in the drier parts of saltmarshes; elsewhere in N. Europe (and formerly in Britain) in tidally inundated dune-slacks and saltmarsh-shingle transitions, and rarely as a casual in other open, disturbed saline areas near the sea. Lowland.
