An erect evergreen or semi-evergreen shrub which occurs as a naturalised garden escape or planted on pathsides and also probably on roadsides and in rough grassland. Lowland.
This species has been cultivated in Britain since 1825. It is rare in gardens and was first recorded from the wild in 1985 (S. Hants.).
Native of S.W. China (Yunnan).
