Geum rivale x urbanum (G. x intermedium)
A highly fertile and variable hybrid, frequently occurring where the habitats of the parents overlap, especially where there is some disturbance. 0?450 m (Nenthead, Cumberland).
The range of G. x intermedium is similar to that in Perring and Sell (1968), but is now much better recorded. As with G. rivale, there appear to have been some losses, particularly in C. & S. England. Hybrid swarms are often extremely variable, backcrosses to the parents being frequent.
Frequent with the parents in Europe and W. Asia.
