A large, often rather woody perennial herb, occurring as a garden escape or throw-out on roadsides and waste ground, and in other urban habitats. It occasionally also appears in quantity on new road verges. It can be persistent, but is often only casual; reproduction is by seed. Lowland.



World Distribution

Native of S.E. Europe, from Italy eastwards, W. & C. Asia.
