An erect deciduous shrub which is naturalised in rough grassland, on railway banks, on lakesides and in waste places. Lowland.
R. parviflorus was introduced into cultivation in Britain in 1818, but it is only infrequently grown. It was recorded from the wild in Britain in 1913 (Angus) where it had been planted, and in Ireland in 1962 (W. Mayo).
