An erect to ascendant perennial with a slightly woody base, found naturalised on a bank by Lochan na Lairige below Ben Lawers (Mid Perth). Upland.
S. quadrifida was first grown in Britain in 1804 and was discovered at its Scottish locality in 1974, where it was deliberately planted. It was also planted at its Mid-W. Yorkshire site.
